My work is a dialogue between simplicity and complexity within a quest to find connection in the everyday. My current body of works are exploring this in two distinct ways. With my use of ink and paper I am looking to use everyday items to make this connection stronger. With ink, thread and layers, I am looking at sharing parts of my own history to help the viewer connect with their own history. I am not intending to replicate reality when capturing these moments but instead to explore deeper connections. I hope to create something that resonates with others—something that allows them to step into my world. My art is about shared experiences and emotions, the fleeting moments that, when captured, transcend time and space.
